Over the weekend, SMSI had our first event of the academic year in the land of leprechauns, beer and green – our annual trip! This year, the trip was at Kilkenny and County Carlow. We first gathered in Dublin on the Friday, before heading over to Kilkenny altogether on the second day and then Carlow where we commenced our day of recreational activities that included a hike and the main highlight of the trip - an activity that was never done before: white water-rafting at Graiguenamanagh!
In the evening, we enjoyed a fancy meal at Kilkenny’s Langton House Hotel, where everyone had a whale of a time catching up with one another over the 2-course meal and relaxing ambience. To end the trip off on a more relaxing note, Sunday’s programme was scheduled around hiking up to Coumshinguan lake before heading back to Dublin and our respective cities for a new school week ahead. 'Twas definitely a trip to remember. The chill moments and fun times gave us a refreshing start to the semester. Thank you members who came on this trip and adventured through these activities with us. We look forward to meeting you at our next mass event during Chinese New Year! Meanwhile, have a great semester ahead and all the best for the academic school year. Love, SMSI Committee 2017/18
