We had our Annual Trip on the 1st and 2nd November where we visited Cork city for an adventure-filled weekend! This year's activities were centered around Cork city where we first gathered. We were split into 2 groups where one group went Go-Karting at the National Kart Centre while the other went for Horse-Riding at Hop Island Equestarian Centre. Go-Karting was exhilarating as we sped past each other in a warehouse circuit. Charles Yap emerged as our fastest racer overall!
Over at the peaceful stables of Hop Island, the other group was learning the basics of horse-riding before taking their horses for a stroll along the beach. For most, it was the first time riding a horse thus it was truly a memorable experience! We concluded day one with dinner at Uptown Restaurant Killarney where we had an array of Asian dishes to satisfy our cravings for home-cooked food. We ended the day walking around the quaint town of Killarney and rested at Killarney Railway Hostel for the night. The next day, we headed to Killarney National Park to hike up Torc Mountain. We were blessed with great weather as the sky finally decided to clear after many days of cloudiness. Along the way, we also saw the Muckross House and Torc Waterfall. After 3 hours, we ended the hike with a lovely view of Muckross Lake at the edge of the park. The weekend away from the city hustle of life was a good stress relief and helped our members re-charge for the remainder of the semester. Our members felt that the trip was a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow Singaporeans from colleges across Ireland, further strengthening the cross-university bonds.
