This year, SMSI ventured to do carry out more volunteer engagement sessions for our members. One of them was working with the Associations of People with Special Needs (APSN). It was great meeting Marcus - who very enthusiastically showed us around APSN, teaching us more about the place and its people. We were introduced to the goals, mission and works of APSN and the impact this organisation has been making on their beneficiaries. Marcus then took us on a tour of the centre and the cafe. The next hour was spent the talking and getting to know the beneficiaries while helping them with their daily work tasks.
APSN is about developing individuals with special needs to their fullest potential so that they can lead dignified, fulfilling and independent lives as integral members of the society. They organise dedicated and specialized educational pathways for young children aged 7 years and above, all the way to adulthood and educators at APSN all aim to nurture each individual with as much love as they can give
