Warwick summer games 2015

24/9/2015

The Warwick Summer Games 2015 were held in River Valley High School. It was SMSI's second time taking part in the competition, and we fielded three teams (Touch Rugby, Netball and Dodgeball) consisting of players from different years and different colleges.
The teams were all assembled during the summer and met up at least once to practice. With a mix of experienced and beginner players, the training sessions were intense but still enjoyable. SMSI's Dodgeball team even joined the Dodgeball Association of Singapore for their weekly training to pick up some tips on gameplay and strategy.

At the end of the competition, SMSI brought home some silverware, namely:
  • Dodgeball - First Place!
  • Touch Rugby - Second Place!

Our Netball team also played fantastically, but were faced with perhaps the toughest opponents in the entire competition. Congratulations to all and a very big thank you to all those who came down to support.

The SMSI Committee would also like to thank the University of Warwick Singapore Society for organizing this annual competition.

If you're interested in taking part in Warwick Summer Games 2016, keep an eye out for the announcement on Facebook and join in our training sessions! The games vary every year, but most popular sports (Touch Rugby, Netball, Basketball, Soccer) are quite likely to be included again.
