SMSI held its annual Pre-Departure Dinner last weekend, at the Gallery Ballroom of Hotel Jen (Tanglin). Students from all five member schools and all six year groups were present for a final meet-up in Singapore to kickstart the upcoming academic year.

SMSI recently held its annual Freshmen Orientation for Singaporeans who will be starting medical or dental school in Ireland in the 2016/17 Academic Year. Students from all five subsidiary schools gathered for a day of sea, sand and a bit too much sun. Ultimately good fun still prevailed and everyone had a great time.
On 25-28 June 2016, a group of SMSI students undertook a local medical mission to conduct health screenings among the migrant worker community in Singapore. The project was organized with the help of HealthServe, a Singaporean NGO.
Members of SMSI from all over the country came together in Dublin to celebrate Chinese New Year with good fun and good food.
The SMSI Committee organized a 3D/2N trip to Connemera in the west of Ireland that was held from the 2-4 October.
The Warwick Summer Games 2015 were held in River Valley High School. It was SMSI's second time taking part in the competition, and we fielded three teams (Touch Rugby, Netball and Dodgeball) consisting of players from different years and different colleges.
Every year, SMSI organizes a Pre-Departure Dinner in Singapore for our graduated, current and soon-to-be medical and dental students from the different colleges across Ireland to get to know one another within the Society. It promises to be a fun and informative session.
Last August, SMSI had the privilege to co-organize and participate in the annual “Yum Cha with Singhealth Residency” alongside SMSUK. This engagement and networking event gave interested students the opportunity to mingle with the program directors, faculty members and current residents of SingHealth.
Over the summer, SMSI held its inaugural Orientation Day to welcome and integrate the incoming batch of students into the society. The orientation was run in an 'Amazing Race' style at Sentosa Beach, where the groups had to find and solve hidden clues progressing on to subsequent stations that had different tasks set out for them to complete.
